Hosting: English Language Fellows

Details: English Language Fellows hold graduate degrees with a focus on TEFL/TESL and generally serve for a 10-month term as English language professionals. The Indonesian program has generally placed fellows as university lecturers. ELFs are funded by the US Department of State and therefore are not paid by their host universities.

Hosting: Fulbright Senior Specialist

Details: This program places US faculty or professionals at Indonesian universities for 2 to 6 weeks. Please note that host institutions are required to provide housing, meal expenses, and local transportation for the specialist.

Resources for U.S. Universities

Hosting: Fulbright ILEP Participants

Details: ILEP particpants are outstanding secondary school teachers chosen through an application process to take a semester long academic program in education at US universities, including an 8 week internship at a US secondary school.

Details: Universities are selected through application process based on ability to provide tuition assistance, offer strong international student support services, and accommodate selected students’ fields of study.

Hosting: Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows

Details: Universities are selected through an application process to participate as a host university for five years. Selection is based on the institution’s ability to develop specialized non-degree, interdisciplinary programs for a diverse group of seven to twelve international Fellows. Application deadline is September 30, annually.

Hosting: Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA)

Details: The Fulbright ETA program places a native English speaker with a US university S1 or S2 degree in Indonesian high schools for 10 months. The institution application form is at the bottom of the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship website.

Resources for U.S. Primary and Secondary Schools

International Teachers Program

Details: Through IIE’s International Teachers Program, J-1 exchange visitor sponsorship is provided, allowing qualified international teachers to teach in accredited U.S. primary and secondary schools on a temporary basis. Participants are employed full-time directly by the host school or district for a maximum of three (3) years. Applicants must hold a teaching license, have at least 3 years of experience, and be eligible for J1 visa sponsorship. Applicants are expected to cover some fees. Please see website for details.
