Awidy Santikajaya is a first year Master of Arts student at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University, Washington, DC. Before beginning studies at SAIS, he worked on Indonesian-American trade cooperation as a junior Indonesian diplomat. He will focus his studies on International Economics and Southeast Asia. During his first year at SAIS, he was a speaker at The Asian Studies Conference organized by The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) in Washington, DC, and again at The Graduate Student Conference in University of Washington, Seattle. He will also be speaking at the 5th Southeast Asian Conference in Vienna, Austria and at the EuroSEAS Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden. In the summer of 2010, he will conduct research on the Southern Thailand conflict at the International Security and International Studies (ISIS), Bangkok.
