Tom Spooner

Tom Spooner has been USINDO's Education Officer since June 2005, with primary responsibility for implementing the four initiatives of USINDO's US-Indonesia Partnership for Higher Education.  He is also responsible for administering USINDO's Sumitro Fellowship and Travel Grant program, and assists with the implementation of the USINDO Aceh School Project.  Prior to coming to USINDO, Tom was a Researcher at the Pew Internet and American Life Project and was a Presidential Management Fellow at the Department of State.

Tom has a M.A. in Southeast Asia Studies and International Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a B.A. in Government from Cornell University.  He has lived abroad in Indonesia, Singapore, and Norway.  In his spare time, Tom is the head coach of rowing at Gonzaga College High School in Washington.
