After serving 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including two tours in Viet Nam, Don Eirich was appointed by the Reagan White House to serve as the Director of Southeast Asian Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. In that capacity, he was awarded the Secretary of Defense's Medal for Outstanding Public Service in recognition of his contribution to the successful transfer of power between the Marcos and Aquino Administrations in the Philippines. Upon leaving the U.S. Government, Don was appointed by Dr. B.J. Habibie to be the Washington representative for Indonesian Aircraft Industries (IPTN).
Don is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College. He holds advanced degrees from the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School and George Washington University
He currently handles congressional relations and defense affairs on the USINDO staff.
